Successful T-Shirt Campaign Raises $33,000 for LGBTQ+ Nonprofit
Nashville, TN – The Concerned Citizens of Tennessee, a coalition of passionate community leaders dedicated to supporting LGBTQ+ rights, is proud to announce a significant donation of $33,000 to Nashville Launch Pad.
"We are immensely grateful for this generous donation from The Concerned Citizens of Tennessee," said H.G. Stovall, Executive Director of Nashville Launch Pad. "These funds will enable us to continue our life-saving work, providing essential care and support to unhoused young adults in the Nashville area. With their help, we can empower our community's most vulnerable members to thrive and overcome the challenges they encounter."
After an image of Governor Bill Lee dressed in drag in high school began circulating online, The Concerned Citizens of Tennessee had the idea to have this image printed on t-shirts with the phrase “Bill Lee is a Drag” added.
The group approached a local LGBTQ+ owned eco-friendly print shop, Music City Creative to print and distribute all the products sold. By leveraging the power of the community, the campaign aimed to shed light on the harmful effects of discriminatory laws recently passed by the Tennessee Legislature.
“Campaign success would not have been possible without the invaluable contribution and swift action of our partner, Music City Creative," said Jude Mason, a representative of The Concerned Citizens of Tennessee. “Together, we sent a powerful message of support to LGBTQ+ young adults in need and demonstrated the unwavering solidarity and support for our community.”
This donation to Nashville Launch Pad is a testament to the power of grassroots initiatives and the resilience of the LGBTQ+ community. The Concerned Citizens of Tennessee, Music City Creative, and Nashville Launch Pad extend their deepest gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the campaign.

About The Concerned Citizens of Tennessee:
Concerned Citizens Of Tennessee - Queer Folk and Allies; Parents; Business Owners; Artists; People of Faith and Atheists - are a group of like-minded humans who were shocked at the attempt by Bill Lee and the Conservative Supermajority in Tennessee to criminalize Drag in our state. We recognized it as a political power move aimed to further stigmatize and criminalize the LGBTQ+ Communities in Tennessee. Drag is a valid and historical art-form that dates back to the beginnings of theater. While we were always aware that this shirt could not change legislation, we believed it to be a just response to the ridiculous drumming up of a fake cultural emergency.
About Music City Creative:
Music City Creative is an LGBTQ+ owned eco-friendly print shop based in Nashville. Committed to social responsibility, the print shop specializes in producing high-quality merchandise while minimizing its environmental impact.
